International Outstanding e-Learning Award 2017

The e-Learning Development Laboratory had called for nomination for the International Outstanding e-Learning Award in early 2017. There were around 200 nominations received for the four award categories:

Mobile Outdoor Learning, Primary English Language Teaching (ELT), STEM & Coding education and General e-learning. (For details, please visit the Award scheme website: http://elearning.eee.hku.hk/awards1617.php)

More than 200 teachers and principals had shared the important moment with us at the “e-Learning Sharing & Award Presentation Ceremony” on 23 June 2017 at Rayson Huang Theatre, HKU.

Following the welcome speech by the Laboratory Director Dr. Wilton Fok, Ms. Ng Mei Mei, the Managing Director, Oxford University Press (China) had delivered the encouraging keynote speech. Some awardees for the Gold and Silver Awards also shared their good practices with teachers.

Two sessions of forum were moderated by Dr. Paul Sze and Mr. Eric Au Hoi Hang with the English e-learning awardees and General e-Learning Awardees respectively.

Dr. Wilton Fok, Director, e-Learning Development Lab, delivered a welcome speech


Ms. Ng Mei Mei, the Managing Director of Oxford University Press (China) and Dr. Paul Sze present the English e-learning Gold Award to Ms. Lilian Law of Yaumati Catholic Primary School. Ms. Law also awarded a sponsored trip to attend an advance English Language Teaching course for teacher development in the University of Oxford in the summer of 2017.


Ms. Sandra, the CEO of Everbest, presented the STEM Award to the team from Ma On Shan St. Joseph College.


STEM Education Gold Award Awardee Ms. Deon Man, Panel Teacher of Baptist (Sha Tin Wai ) Lui Ming Choi Primary School, shared their good practice of e-learning for STEM education with the participants


Outdoor Mobile Learning awardee Ms. Lam Mei Yee received the Gold Award from Ms. Clairine Chan, Teaching Fellow of The Education University of Hong Kong. The project title is “Walking on the Main Street – Taste and Reflect”


Awardees shared their experience on English education in the forum “How e-Learning can help” moderated by Dr Paul Sze, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong


Awardees shared their experience on STEM & Coding education in the forum moderated by Mr. Eric Au Yeung


STEM Education Gold Award Awardee Mr. Yu, Ma On Shan St. Joseph College, shared their good practice of e-learning for STEM education with the participants


Mr. Ha Chi Hung, Chairman of Flipped Classroom Society, gave a talk on Flipped Classroom
